The plan is simple and there is no deductible! For one small flat monthly fee, an Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com covers ALL of your eligible appliances, electronics and computers for mechanical and electrical failures that occur during normal use. The plan covers those repairs (including parts and labor) necessary to return your product to its intended functionality under normal operation. If the repair costs associated with your product exceed the price you paid for it -- or if it can't be repaired because parts are no longer available or the price of repair is too high -- you may receive up to the eligible product's original purchase price (excluding sales tax) to replace it.

Once you sign up, you need to register your purchased products on GreenUmbrella.com. Any eligible products (with a manufacturer's warranty of one year or more) that you purchased in the last 60 days, should immediately be registered by you when you purchase this Extended Service Plan. Then register your future retail products (which have a manufacturer's warranty of at least 90 days) with us within 30 days of their purchase. Be sure to keep all of your receipts.

What is the difference between an Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com and the service plans offered by most retailers?
Retailer plans cover only ONE product.
An Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com covers ALL eligible products under ONE plan for a small flat monthly fee that does not change regardless of the number of registered eligible products.

How long are my products covered under an Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com?

The plan covers each of your eligible products for up to four years starting from the date of your original purchase. The coverage is in addition and occurs in conjunction with the manufacturer's warranty that comes automatically with your purchase of the new product.

What types of products does an Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com cover?

The plan covers the vast majority of personal electronics, computer and appliance products you purchase for use at your primary residence. Cellular telephones of any type are not covered by the plan.

In order for your products to be eligible for coverage they must:

  • Have been purchased and registered by you within 30 days of the purchase while you were covered by the Extended Service Plan or if purchased within 60 days prior to the date you first signed up for the plan, must be registered on the date you signed up.
  • Have an individual purchase price of less than $5,000;
  • Come with a minimum manufacturer's warranty of at least 90 days, and
  • Be one of the more than 50,000 products covered under this plan.

Does an Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com cover routine or preventive maintenance?

No, the plan does not cover routine or preventive maintenance or cleaning of your product.

Is an Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com insured?

The Extended Service Plans offered by GreenUmbrella.com are issued and serviced by National Product Care Company in all states except Arizona, Florida, Wisconsin and Oklahoma. In these four states, the Extended Service Plans are serviced by Service Saver Incorporated. The obligation to make a repair or replacement as required by the terms of the plan are insured by a policy issued by Virginia Surety Company, Inc. Virginia Surety was founded in 1927 and is one of the largest underwriters of insured service plans and warranty products in the world.

Does an Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com cover products that were previously used or refurbished?

The plan does NOT cover eligible products that were previously used or refurbished. Your eligible product must have come with at least a 90-day minimum manufacturer warranty to be covered (or with a minimum of a one-year warranty if purchased prior to the date you first signed up for an Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com). If your eligible product comes "as is" or without a manufacturer or store-bought warranty, it is not eligible for coverage under the plan.

What types of repairs are not covered by an Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com?

As with any extended service plan, the plan cannot cover you for every possible thing that could go wrong with your product. For example, accidental damage to your product is not covered (unless the accidental damage is the direct result of a power surge). Preventive or routine maintenance or cleaning of your product is not covered.

How many eligible products can I have under an Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com?

There is no limit to the number of eligible products that you can register and cover under the plan.

What if I purchased an eligible product before signing up for an Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com?

The plan will cover eligible products that you purchase prior to signing up for the Extended Service Plan so long as:

  • That purchase was made within 60 days of the date that you first signed up for the plan
  • The product has a purchase price of less than $5,000
  • The purchased product came with a minimum manufacturer's warranty of at least one year and
  • You have a receipt showing your purchase of this item.
Do I need to register my products to get coverage?

Yes. After your purchase of the plan, you need to register your eligible products for coverage at www.GreenUmbrella.com within 30 days of purchase. If your products were purchased within 60 days of the date you signed up for the plan, you will need to register your products on the date you sign up. We make it simple and easy for you to register your purchase and will even send you monthly email reminders.

Do I need to keep my receipts?

Yes, you must keep all your receipts. You may be required to provide a copy of your retail purchase receipt for the covered product when requesting repair service for that particular product.

Service Questions

Does an Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com cover bulb replacement for my projection television?

Yes, the coverage is limited to one (1) bulb replacement for each registered DLP, Projection LCD TV and Home Theater Projector that is covered under this plan. The plan will only provide one replacement bulb for a registered covered item.

What types of repairs are covered?

The plan has no deductible and covers your product for mechanical and electrical failures that occur during normal use. This plan covers any and all repairs (including parts and labor) necessary to return your product to its intended functionality under normal operation. If the repair costs associated with your product exceed the price you paid for it -- or if it can't be repaired because parts are no longer available or the price of repair is too high -- you may receive payment of up to the eligible product's original purchase price (excluding sales tax) to replace it.

Do I have to pay a deductible when I need a covered repair?

No, you are not required to pay any deductibles under the plan.

How do I file a repair service request if something breaks?

To file a service request, call TWG Innovative Solutions toll free at 1-888-484-2567 to request service on any one of your eligible products. There is a network of over 25,000 screened and approved service contractors ready to address your problem. You may be required to provide a copy of your original purchase receipt when requesting a repair.

Who performs the repair service if something breaks?

When repairing your eligible product, only authorized service repair professionals are used. The plan provides you with the same type of service that you would get from the manufacturer or retailer of your product. There is a network of more than 25,000 service repair professionals to help fix your problem.

Where do I take my products to get service?

Services are provided to you either as "Carry-In" or "In-Home". Carry-In products generally apply to smaller electronics and computers that you can transport easily. Carry-In products are repaired at authorized service centers. In-Home services generally apply to those larger products, such as appliances and big screen televisions, which are not easily transported. The authorized service provider will travel to your home to perform repairs on In-Home products or, in the event the covered In-Home product must be shipped to an "Authorized Servicer", two-way shipping to and from the point of repair will be paid.

The cost related to the removal and reinstallation of any covered item is not covered by this plan. Additionally, you will be responsible for disposing of a broken part or item such as an appliance if it needs to be replaced.

General Questions

What is the minimum manufacturer's warranty required?

As you may know, the manufacturer's warranty is the promise of your electronic, appliance or computer manufacturer to repair or replace your product for a specified period of time if it breaks as result of a defect. Most electronic products have a manufacturer's warranty of at least 90 days. Most appliance and computer products have manufacturer's warranties of one year. Check your product's owner manual for specific manufacturer warranty terms and conditions.

Under an Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com, in order for the product to be eligible for coverage, the item must have the following minimum manufacturer's warranty:

  • If the product was purchased prior to the date you first signed up for an Extended Service Plan through GreenUmbrella.com, then the product must have a minimum manufacturer's warranty of at least one year;
  • If the product was purchased on or after the date you first signed up for an Extended Service Plan through GreenUmbrella.com, then the product must have a manufacturer's warranty of at least 90 days.
Can I transfer my Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com?

The Extended Service Plans are not transferable. Remember that an Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com covers an unlimited number of your eligible products. You can cancel the plan at anytime if you feel you no longer need this coverage. Please be aware that with your cancellation of this plan, there is no longer any obligation to repair or replace any item that had been covered by this plan and that all coverage under the plan terminates immediately on the date of your cancellation.

What happens if I move?

The plan covers your eligible registered products that are located at your primary residence. When you move to a new location within the US, you need to update your account profile with your new primary address. You can do this by visiting the member center, "Edit My Profile" on our website or by contacting us toll free at 1-888-698-6273. The coverage for your eligible registered products under this plan will remain the same as prior to your move.

What happens if my product can not be repaired?

If the repair costs associated with your product exceed the price you paid for it -- or if it can't be repaired because parts are no longer available or the price of repair is too high -- you may receive payment of up to the eligible product's original purchase price to replace it. The original purchase price does not include the sales taxes, shipping, delivery or installation charges that you may have incurred in connection with your purchase.

Does it matter where I buy something?

The plan covers all of your eligible products. It does not matter where you choose to purchase your eligible products from; however, products must not be a resale item even if in new condition and must carry a minimum manufacturers' warranty of 90 days.

Can I cancel my Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com?

You can cancel your Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com at anytime. There is no fee or penalty for cancelling. If you would like to cancel your plan please contact us toll free at 1-888-698-6273. Please be aware that upon your cancellation of this plan, the issuer of the Plan will no longer have any obligation to repair or replace any item that has been covered by this plan and that all coverage under the plan terminates immediately on the date of your cancellation.

Who is TWG Innovative Solutions (TWGIS)?

TWG Innovative Solutions (TWGIS) is the exclusive administrator of the Extended Service Plan. This company is responsible for the administration of your Extended Service Plan including scheduling and fulfilling your service repair requests for your covered products. Who is National Product Care Company?

National Product Care Company (NPCC) is an affiliate of Virginia Surety Company, Inc. and is the company that is obligated to you to provide the repair or replacement of your covered products, as well as any other obligations as specified in your Extended Service Plan in all states except Arizona, Florida, Wisconsin and Oklahoma. In these four states, the party obligated for these repairs and replacements is Service Saver Incorporated.

Who is Service Saver Incorporated?

Service Saver Incorporated (SSI) is an affiliate of Virginia Surety Company, Inc. and is the company that is obligated to you to provide the repair or replacement of your covered products, as well as any other obligations as specified in your Extended Service Plan in Arizona, Florida, Wisconsin and Oklahoma.

Who is the Virginia Surety Company?

Virginia Surety Company, Inc. was founded in 1927 and is one of the largest underwriters of insured service plans and warranty products in the world. Virginia Surety maintains an AM Best Company financial strength rating of A-.This rating is assigned only to companies that have, in the opinion of AM Best Company, an excellent ability to meet their financial obligations and responsibilities to their insured.

What are the limits on what an Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com will cover?

Your coverage (and the financial responsibility) under the plan to repair or replace your covered product is limited to the lesser of the following:

  • The cost of the actual repair;
  • The cost to replace your covered product; or
  • The original purchase price as documented on your purchase receipt.

The original purchase price does not include the sales taxes, shipping, delivery or installation charges that you may have incurred in connection with your purchase.

Further, your coverage under the plan is limited to two repair/replacement service claims in any 12-month period.

Does an Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com cover accidental damage?

The plan does not cover your products for accidental damage unless the damage is caused as the direct result of a power surge.

Are cell phones and smart phones covered?

Plans purchased through GreenUmbrella.com do not cover cellular or smart phones of any type. Devices such as iPhone, Blackberry and Palm are not covered.

Does an Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com cover products that I buy for work, office or my rental home?

The plan does not cover products that were identified by the manufacturer as intended only for commercial use or that are not located at your primary residence. For example, the items you would buy for work, office or a rental home (which is not your primary residence) would not be covered by this Extended Service Plan.

Does an Extended Service Plan purchased through GreenUmbrella.com cover damages that result from a power surge?

The plan includes coverage for repairs or replacements for covered products that are damaged as a direct result of a power surge.
